Welcome

Dear guest, actually, for many centuries nothing has changed up here:

In 1850 the Tyrolean nobleman Karl von Zallinger bought this incomparably beautiful alpine dairy situated at the foot of the Sassopiatto massive, gave it its name and prompted the building of a charming little church. But already long before that, alpine dwellers and passers-by were welcome and hosted in this area.

Since then, hospitality is a local tradition up here and we are very keen on keeping it alive. Flowery meadows, shadowy woods, green valleys and pale summits – explore them on foot, on horseback, by bicycle… Or do you rather prefer marvelling at them while relaxing in a deck chair?

The Zallinger mountain guest-house

The Zallinger mountain guest-house and the alpine pastures surrounding it have a long tradition.

Until 1860 the name of the Zallinger pastures was ‚Sassegg‘ which is Ladin-Bajuwaric meaning ‚hill on the big rock’, hence on the Sassopiatto.
