The Seiser Alm and Lodging’s History

Once Upon a Time There Was a Pasture ...

The Zallinger has been here at the foot of the Plattkofel mountain for quite a while. Originally, the mountain hut was called “Sassegg”, meaning “hill by the big Sas”, which refers to the Plattkofel towering above it. “Zallinger”, on the other hand, was the surname of the man who bought the hut in 1854. Ever since – and at the hands of Luisa and her late husband – a lot has happened. Our timeline offers a detailed list of events.
